Not even barbie's perfect

If Barbie was an actual woman, she would be 5’9” tall, have a 39” bust, an 18” waist, 33” hips and a size 3 shoe.
• Barbie calls this a “full figure” and likes her weight at 110 lbs.
• At 5’9” tall and weighing 110 lbs, Barbie would have a BMI of 16.24 and fit the weight criteria for anorexia. She likely would not menstruate.
• If Barbie was a real woman, she’d have to walk on all fours due to her proportions.
 • Slumber Party Barbie was introduced in 1965 and came with a bathroom scale permanently set at 110 lbs with a book entitled “How to Lose Weight” with directions inside stating simply “Don’t eat.”

I found this picture on tumblr and found it very meaningful. Barbie is known for being beautiful and perfect but is she really?, This picture shows the proportions of barbie if she were a human.. personally that is anything but perfect. People who inspire to look like barbie need a new inspiration. maybe try looking in the mirror and there you'll find the inspirations

Just a couple of photos of my outfit from Eid (sunday). My dress was black white pink roses and I wore it with a black lace top and a pair of indian style trousers which where skinny at the bottom. I completed my outfit with a pair of wedges with a sparkling bow which showed of the henna that I did myself. I was planning to wear this bigger with diamontes head scarf but it was soo hot I put on a simple black chiffon headscarf with this big, sparkly broach. The one day I wouldn't mind being in shorts and a tee and I have to be in an outfit. And then  as you can see a little clutch bag with sparkly detail. Overall the day was good, I saw all the family after not seeing them for a couple of weeks. So yeah do I look pretty :)

And the Winner is..

Introducing you to Motel Rocks

I stumbles across on to a new clothing website that I found recently and thought I'd share it with you. Something that caught my eye straight away was all the prints and colours, some of which I haven't seen on the high street. I think from this site there's something for everyone. There's a variety of things to look for from tops all the way down to socks. There are so many pieces that I just love, here a few of them

Motel Nala Peplum Tube Dress in Black and White Baroque

(£42.00)

I love everything about this dress starting from the print. Personally I've never seen this stunning print on a dress, its usually on wallpapers (not a bad thing). Its a crazy yet simple patter if you get what I mean, Its a pattern made up of lots of swirly lines. What makes this pattern work on the dress is the actual shape/design of the dress. You have that really sexy and feminine body-con dress with the peplum waist feature which gives you that hourglass wait. The peplum waist detailing also gives the dress more of a glamorous feel. This dress does it all really, I would either pair it will black shoes or if your feeling really fun then pair it with a bright coloured shoe.

Motel Annali Strapless Cream Bustier Dress in Soft Green

(£48.00)

I saw this dress on tumblr and loved it so when I found this dress on Motel Rocks I was very happy. This is a simple, floaty, summer dress that will make you feel like a princess. The top is really pretty with the white lace and sweetheart neckline creating that really feminine touch. The skirt is lovely the shade of light green is beautiful especially with the summer trend being pastels. The light fabric will make you feel like your on cloud 9. This dress can be accessories with some statement pieces because the dress is so simple.

Motel New Zoe Bodycon Dress in Rainbow Fade

(£28.00)

Some people are going to hate this dress with all the colours but I think its really fun. Its quite 'hippie' with all the colours merging into each other. The colours are bright and bold, as you can see. This dress works well because the shape of the dress is a simple bodying dress which will make you look fabulous. You can wear this dress with several looks. This will look quite cool with a crochet dress/top over it and make it look quite beach-y. Or you can go all rock by adding a leather studded jacket and a pair of Jeffrey Campbell's. Like I said before, where else are you going to get a rainbow coloured dress?

Motel Hillary Strapless Body in White Rosa Print

£25.00

Motel Rocks also has a selection of play-suits and this one is absolutely cute. That sweet-heart neckline gives it that really pretty feel. Then there's the pretty rose print in black which I love. This is garment that create several different looks. Pair with a pair of high waisted jeans for a cool look.

Motel Hilly High Waist Hot Pant in Aztec Pastel Print

£20.00

Although I'm not a person who can go out wearing shorts, I do love these. I love the print on these hot pants, its filled with colour and shapes. The black against the rest of those colours really makes them stand out. The way this has been styles in the picture is how I would style it too. A pair of killer platforms with this pair of hot pants will be a super sexy look.

Ok so there's about 20 other garment's I want you to see but im sure you get the gist of it. Motel Rocks offer a range of fun and colourful clothes. Take a look at their website to see if there's anything you like even if the pieces i've chosen in this post aren't quite your thing. They have tops, shorts, dresses and even cosmetics. I have just read on their website that if you place an order before 12:30 then they will try and send out your things that day so you'll hopefully get your stuff earlier. Also if I'm correct if you live in the Uk then shipping is free no matter high much you spend (correct me if im wrong).

Also as a reader of my blog you get 20% off your order when you use the code:

So go check out the website and tell me what you think.

       Moonstone Lagoon
(Images taken from the Ruby Wings website)

So this is one for those living in New York City. I was searching the web and came across this amazing product by Ruby Wings. Believe it or not but this nail varnish changes colour depending if your inside or outside. I know you probably think its full of chemicals and things like that but in fact its not. They claim to be "completely non-toxic, environmentally safe, and 4-FREE (no harsh chemicals like toluene, formaldehyde, camphor, and DBP). Plus, they're vegan, and never tested on animals."
The pictures above show how the colours change from being indoor to outdoor. Both colours are really nice and soft. I think its just incredible and it will really impress people. There are lots more colours that you can have so you should go check out the website. They are $12 which for my British readers is about £7.20 which is more than your usual nail polish but come on this is anything but your usual nail polish. Unfortunately they don't ship but if you live in New York then you need to check this out.
So what are your opinions? Do you own this nail varnish?

Make Up Idea

(credit to unknown owner, image found on Google)

I was searching for some eyes images and came across this really cool eye make-up. I really like cheetah print so this eye-make up caught my eye (no pun intended). Its not an idea I would have thought up so its lucky I found this picture. This is a cool, quirky look thats isn't too much. I'm definitely going to try this look out.

MUA LIPBOOM REVIEW

Shade - Let Me Know

(Images taken from the MUA website)

(Jlo playing Selena in the biographical drama film 'Selena')

I purchased MUA's LipBoom stick for around £3 from Superdrugs the other day. I had read some good reviews about this product on other blogs so I thought I'd get myself one. I had been wanted a dark brown coloured lipstick for ages but hadn't seen any since now. Ever since getting into lipsticks a couple years back and watching the film 'Selena' I really loved that dark brown shade of lipstick. When I saw this shade I just had to get it and it came with the lip gloss so that was a bonus. Something that was good was the image on the package which was Alexandra Burke wearing the lipstick with the lip-gloss so you got an idea of the shade as sometimes the colour seems darker then it actually is. I tried the lipstick yesterday and I love it, its just the shade I wanted. There's a highlighter which I added in the centre of my lips for a fuller look which I could see. The only thing is I couldn't quite get my finger in the little pot(highlighter), I dont know if its because my nails are a bit long but I had to scrape it out with my nails which was a bit messy. You could wear the highlighter alone which is nice if you want that natural colour to your lips so that another way of wearing it. And then there's the lipgloss which is glittery which I personally like. Also another big bonus is the smell, I smelt the lip-gloss and my mouth watered (not literally) as it smelt like caramel. The smell is lovely and sweet, and if I could eat lip-gloss I would eat that one. By far its the best smelling lipstick/lip-gloss I own. Also to add it lasted until I took it off which was about 5 hours, but I didn't eat/drink in that time so thats probably why but even still its great. Overall this product is amazing, everything from the shade to the packaging. Obviously there are several other shade which look nice.

Do you own this stick? What do you think of it?

Down the road

A couple of days ago I went down the road onto the high-street and bought this stunning necklace. The pendant is just beautiful, you can only see a fraction of how beautiful it is. The colours and stunning, the purple pinks and bits of green from the light. As much as I would love to say how expensive and real the crystals are I actually got it from QS. It was £4.99 which was a good price for this beautiful necklace. Its on a long chain and has tassels at the end which makes it look even nicer. It reminds me of a talisman, like you see in films with magic powers. Its definitely a statement piece and is going to look amazing on a simple dress.
On the high road was superdrug's so I went to have a look at what they had. I saw this shade of LipBoom from MUA and had to get it. I dont want to say to much as im going to review it on another post. It was about £3 which is a great price seeing as you get a lipstick and a lipgloss. I'd seen a couple of reviews on a couple of blog's so I was excited about trying it out.

Polymer clay bits

I've been making polymer clay beads/charms for about 2 weeks and here are my 2nd lot of bits that i've made. The picture in the top r/hand side was inspired by the Pandora bead brackets. I made them bigger then the Pandora beads but you get my drift. I chose to keep to 4 colours which as you can see was blue, pink black and white. I think the colours together look really nice, each colour brings out the other colours. My favourite bead is the stripy one because I like the texture of it. Im hoping to get a chain bracelet to put it onto because for whatever reason I dont have one. I also made some simple square beads, I just though having them cubed shape would be a bit different and cute. Because all the colours and bright and bold they work well. I've put them all onto a bit of elastic to make a elastic bracelet which looks quite pretty. My next polymer clay creation was the pendant, this one is actually a gift for my auntie. It was inspired by henna as you can hopefully see. You cant see in the picture but I mixed orange and red to create a subtle marbling effect which turned out quite nice. Considering I had to handle thing pieces of clay it has turned out lovely. And last of all is my moustache ring, I LOVE these rings but can't seem to find them in the shops so I made one myself. I made this one 3 times because it didn't look right and finally it came out just right. I love how my moustache ring has turned out its so cute and quirky, I cant wait to show my friends at school.
Making polymer clay charms has been really fun and great for if you have a lot of time on your hands. Its also soo easy to do and there's lots of video tutorials on the internet. I am hoping to make a 'Alice and wonderland' inspired necklace/bracelet with lots of charms on it, I think that will be cute with miniature teapots and cards.
So what do you think? Is there a craft that you do?

NOTE: if anyone knows anyone into jewellery making who would trade some bits and bobs for jump rings,I have loads from fashion and wants to do some sort of trade. Get in touch
